Some gunmen have attacked Ashaka police state in Ndokwa East local government area of Delta state, burning the station and a patrol van but no life was lost and no weapon was taken by the hoodlums.
According to the Acting Police public relations officer, Edafe Bright, the armed men who are about 20 came to the police station at about 1am today, threw explosives at the station while shooting sporadically before setting the police station and van ablaze.
The police in Delta say despite the unprovoked attacks they will continue to provide adequate security to every community in Delta.
In another development, six suspected kidnappers and armed robbers have killed during a gun battle with the police and an AK 47 rifle, one pump action gun, one AK 47 magazine with 25 live ammunition were recovered
