Police in Imo State have repelled an attack on its headquarters by unknown gunmen early hours of Sunday.
The attempted attack is coming two months hoodlums attacked the same police headquarters and the State correctional centre in Owerri freeing over 1800 inmates and burnt vehicles.
Confirming the incident, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Elkana Bala said the attackers made effort to access the Police Headquarters through Works Layout around Alvana Nursery and Primary School but were vehemently repelled.
According to him the gunmen came in a white Hummer bus and One of the hoodlums was killed during an exchange of fire while others were injured.
The Police however recovered the Hummer bus and Two Ak47 rifles from the hoodlums.
