The Mayor of Nnewi North Local Government Area in Anambra State, Hon. Echezona Anazodo, has made a bold commitment to deliver a full hundred percent of the votes for Chief Emma Nwachukwu, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, in the upcoming senatorial by-election scheduled for August 16, 2025.
This pledge was made during a campaign event on Friday, August 8, where Governor Charles Soludo joined Chief Nwachukwu to rally support in Nnewi North LGA.
Anazodo emphasized that Nnewi North’s support for Nwachukwu will not only pave the way for his senatorial election, but will also signal the LGA’s strong backing for Governor Soludo in the governorahip elections set for November 8.
“We’re ready for Nwachukwu, and we’re ready for Soludo. We’re ready for August 16, and we’re also ready for November 8. You’ll hear from us on Saturday, August 16. That will confirm to you our commitment towards APGA and our love for Soludo and his government,” Anazodo said.
During the campaign tour, Emma Nwachukwu reiterated his commitment to running an inclusive campaign focused on the welfare of the people.
He explained his commitment towards empowering members of his senatorial zone economically, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting sustainable development throughout Anambra South.
Nwachukwu assured constituents that he would provide effective representation in the Senate, urging the electorate to support his bid to accelerate growth in the district.
He also made a promise to complete all projects initiated by the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, while also expressing his intention to address the immediate needs of the senatorial district by initiating new projects tailored towards their needs.
In his remarks at the campaign event, Governor Charles Soludo highlighted the importance of solidarity among Nnewi people. He cited past instances where Nnewi indegens like Senators Onyeabor Obi, Ikechukwu Obiorah, and the late Ifeanyi Ubah received support from people of other local government areas, and called for a reciprocal, urging Nnewi North to back Nwachukwu, who hails from Nnewi South, to maintain balance in political representation.
Moreover, the governor reassured Nnewi people of his commitment to infrastructural development of the area. He mentioned the completion of several key road projects, including Ezemewi, Igwe Orizu, Okpuno-Eze, and St. Mary Roads, aimed at enhancing the transportation network in this industrial hub.
Soludo promised that further infrastructural improvements would follow, to reinforce his dedication to the growth of the industrial city.
“We have a candidate who will give quality representation to the people of Anambra South senatorial district in the person of Emma Nwachukwu.
“We can recall that some Nnewi indigenes like Senators Onyeabor Obi, Ikechukwu Obiorah and late Ifeanyi Ubah were supported by others when they went to Senate to represent Anambra South. In like manner, let Nnewi North reciprocate by supporting Emma Nwachukwu, who is from Nnewi South LGA. We give to one section this time and another section next time to balance the political equations.
“I have not left Nnewi out in infrastructural development. We constructed some roads in Nnewi including Ezemewi, Igwe Orizu, Okpuno-Eze and St. Mary Roads to ensure good road network in the industrial community. Many more roads are also going to be constructed very soon,” he said.
The campaign rally attracted many the political heavyweights under the APGA platform, industrialists and business men and women in Nnewi.
