Azubugo Wins APGA’s Anambra South Senatorial District Primary Election

Member, House of Representatives for Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Chris Azubogu, has emerged winner of the Anambra South Senatorial District ticket of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Declaring the winner at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, last Wednesday, the Secretary of Anambra APGA Assemblies Committee, Stephen Nwoga, declared Azubogu winner after he polled II6 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Ben Nwankwo, who scored II3 votes.

The other contestants, Emmanuel Nwachukwu and Akachukwu Nwankpo got 75 and 44 votes respectively.

A total of 348 delegates from Aguata, Orumba North, Orumba South, Ihiala, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Local Council participated at the primary.

Nwoga, who stood in for the committee’s Chairman, one Ibrahim, said he was proud of the contestants for exhibiting spirit of sportsmanship, maturity and discipline.
