Enugu Medical Doctors Strike Action Update

Eleven days now into the Enugu state resident doctors industrial actions, concerned residents have described the steps as ill-timed, poised to arm-twist the government in the period of emergency.
The group condemned the action of the resident doctors serving at the state teaching hospital Parklane.

On the 24th of April, the Nigeria Medical Doctors Association (NMA) Enugu branch announced the commencement of their indefinite industrial action, requesting that government should implement the agreement of the Consolidated Doctors Salary Scale 2009.
This was widely criticized by many as a strategy to capitalize on the global incident of Covid 19 to arm-twist the government.
Retired health workers are recalled while hundreds of thousand health workers are currently been engaged to join in the war against coronavirus pandemic, which has lest the world with over 3million confirmed cases and about half a million deaths.
