Families Give up Easter Funfair Celebration because of Covid 19 Fear

Christian families in Enugu state have advised Nigerians to support government of all tiers to ensure the ravaging scourge of the coronavirus pandemic is contained.

They urge Christians to demonstrate their determination by using the Easter break which fall within the lockdown period as a season to reach out to the under-privileged citizens, whose effect of the shutdown might have it negative impact on their incomes.

Easter Monday is the day after Easter Sunday and is a holiday in some countries.

Easter Monday in the Western Christian liturgical calendar is the second day of Eastertide which is often regarded as the second day of Bright Week.

Enugu state is the regional capital of the South east, a zone that is believed to be a Christian dominated zone.

To many Christians here, this year Easter Monday celebration is inaudible, where many families are left with no option than to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ in their indoors.

For the Mbanefo’s, they advised Christians nationwide to see the coronavirus pandemic as global challenge that needs everyone to cooperate with government to enable it end the deadly disease.

Many are optimistic, that with complete obedience to government directives of restriction of movement and observing the outlined protocols, the world would soon see to the end to the deadly disease.
