The Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has been commended by Salute Nigeria Initiative(FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER) and Police Campaign Against Cultism and other vices(POCACOV) on the posting of Cp Janet Agbede to Abia state as the first female commissioner of police.According to the group through a statement jointly signed by their National Coordinators, Ambassador Chielo Ojirika and Csp Ebere Amaraizu,this has further demonstrated IGP”S leadership directions on Gender Sensitivity and Mainstreaming which is also a component of Community Oriented Policing.The group also commended the Inspector General of police IGP MA Adamu for urgently setting up a special Investigation Panel headed by DIG Anthony Michael Ogbizi of the Force Criminal Investigation Department to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the killing of one Ifeanyi Arunsi by a policeman at Ebem Ohafia area of Abia state recently.
Meanwhile the group has congratulated Cp Janet Agbede as the new and first Female Commissioner of Police of Abia state.Cp Janet Agbede believes in Community Oriented Policing Agenda of the Force under the leadership of Inspector General of police having supported police campaign Against cultism and other vices (POCACOV) as Deputy commissioner of police state criminal investigations Department Enugu. She is a member of
International Association of Chief of Police (IACP) and has served the Force in various capacities such as Deputy commissioner of police in charge state criminal investigations Department (SCID )for Ebonyi,Bauchi and Enugu states respectively and the Commissioner of Police( welfare) Force Headquarters,Abuja .
