Prominent cleric Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has advised Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate and former governor of Anambra State, to avoid political complacency.
In a recent video posted on Facebook, Ayodele warned that Obi’s current political approach could jeopardize his chances if he fails to adapt to the changing dynamics of Nigeria’s political landscape. He emphasized that relying solely on his personal popularity, without forming strategic partnerships, could be detrimental.
Ayodele continued to caution that Obi’s reluctance to engage in broader coalitions or supportive roles might slowly erode his significance on the national level. He pointed out that collaboration and adaptability are often essential for gaining political traction and achieving success in Nigeria.
Additionally, Ayodele raised concerns about the ability of smaller political parties, like the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to independently win the presidency, highlighting the critical need for robust national structures and alliances.
His remarks have sparked ongoing discussions among political analysts and supporters as the preparations for the upcoming elections gradually unfold.
