Members of Anambra State Association Of Town Unions (ASATU) numbering over 300 hundred recently embarked on Solidarity March on the streets of Awka the Anambra State Capital.
The group led by its national president, Barrister Titus Akpudo (Ichaka , Egbe eji egbu agu) marched through the popular Ekwueme square to Anambra State secretariat and back to Ekwueme square. They were seen wielding placards of varying inscriptions ranging from “Soludo is doing well”, “We are strongly behind him”, “We’ll work with him again and again, among others.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the Solidarity March, the president, Barr. Akpudo paid a glowing tribute to Governor Chukwuma Soludo whom he described as a game changer and a go-getter, saying that the association was utterly impressed with what the Governor had done in space of two years, emphasizing they were ready to support his re-election campaign.
The national president of ASATU noted that the works Governor Soludo had done so far in the areas of roads construction, employment of teachers and health workers, empowerment of over 5000 youths across the state as well as changing the narrative as Okpoko and other hitherto abandoned communities in Anambra State had endeared him more to the people’s hearts.
‘We are passing a vote of confidence to our Governor. Soludo deserves all the support he is getting from us. We are fully behind him. He has shown the way and we are following him courageously. If he decides to contest again we’ll follow him through. He is a great leader. We are safe in his hands. I believe all the community leaders will attest to the fact that Soludo has surpass our expectations in two years.
‘You can see all of us rejoicing and hailing the State’s number one citizen. We are fully represented. I’m happy to identify with him and I know that every ASATU member will equally do same. We are here to make a bold statement. All our support will go to Governor Chukwuma Soludo,’ he assured.
