Why I Choose To Celebrate My Birthdays With The Needy – Rev. Nwachukwu

Senior pastor of Bible Base Miracle Assembly, Nkpor, Anambra State, Rev. Dr Jerry Nwachukwu, has revealed the reasons he always celebrate his birthdays with the poor and the needy.

Speaking last Friday, during a ceremony to mark his 47th birthday, at his church located at No. 19 Ezemdu Street, off Mercedes Avenue, Nkpor-Agu, the cleric said that he considers the poor above the rich because, he wants pleasurable surprises from God.

“I choose celebrating my birthdays with the poor and the needy because, the word of God says it is better to go to the house of mourning than to celebrate with the rich.

“Giving to the poor is a gateway to greatness. Whenever you give to the poor, you’re giving loan to God, who will also pay you in compound interest.

“In Psalm 41:1-3, the word of God says if you want pleasurable surprises from God, you must consider the poor.

“Nobody cares for the poor that God does not care for. The measure you give out determines the measure you get back. I do not have much; but the little I have, I do share it with others, so that my Father who sees in secret will reward me.”

He also expressed gratitude to God for blessing him with healthy body and mind; saying that since he was born, he has never been admitted in any hospital over I’ll health or disease.

“I am 47 years now. When I look back from my infancy to the present day, I find a lot of things to thank God for.

“I’ve never been admitted in any hospital since I was born. No matter how stressed up I am, God always strengthen me.

“All these years in the ministry, God has been there – providing, caring, leading and directing me,” he said.

He also ceased the opportunity to advise married couples to make their partners their best friends. He urged husbands and wives to know and understand each other inside out; so as to establish happy homes where children will be raised in the fear of God.
