F.G says it has completed payment of April salaries for armed forces personnel

PRESS RELEASE REWORKED

The Federal Government says it has completed payment of April salaries for armed forces personnel in the country.

The Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, (IPPIS) department in the Office of the Accountant General says the officials were already paid as at Friday May eighth.

It blamed the delay in payment on the lockdown, which led to late submission of variations by agencies concerned and the need to accommodate their inputs in the April payroll.

This is against the backdrop of media reports alleging that the payment of military and paramilitary personnel salaries, was delayed due to the incompetence of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System’s operators.
